Campaign Update 6 Days to Go

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

Great News!

This morning I received a call from a supporter in KC who informed me that I have received the 3rd District Kansas State Board of Education endorsement from the Kansas City Star.   The article, entitled, “A clear choice for better Kansas schools” can be found on my website,  http://www.dennisgeorgeforkansas.com/ under the KC Star tab.   The last sentence of the article sums it up, “The state Board of Education is too important a position to be used to advance a personal, and regressive, agenda.

Bacon has served long enough.  George is a far superior option.”

Our campaign has been very busy the last two weeks.   On July 20th, I had the privilege of speaking to the VOICES group at Lakeview Village in Johnson County.  It was well attended and everyone had great questions.

On July 21st, I attended the District 3 Board of Education Candidate's Forum in Olathe, Ks.  I was the only candidate in attendance which allowed me to answer many questions and meet many people.

We have installed two large signs at 143rd and Pflumm.  They are working!  The message is getting out!

Last night, we attended the Anderson County Fair Parade in Garnett and tonight we will be in Paola for the Miami County Fair Parade.

I have met many great people in this process!  I am excited that our message is being heard!

I thank all of you for your support!

Dennis George S Hello Supporters~!I attended a KASB event in Ottawa Tuesday. The topic was “Student Achievement in Tough Economic Times” Issues for the 2010 election. Tom Kerbs presented current information linking Finance and Achievement in a very educational and useful format. Please go to www.KASB.org to view the presentation. The presentation is the third item on the home page.

Elected officials attending were Senator Derek Schmidt, Representative Bill Otto, Representative Tony Brown, Representative Willy Prescott and my fellow USD 290 Board Member Brandon Jones.  If you, as a community member, ever have a chance to attend a KASB educational event, I highly recommend you attend.

Please send me an email with any of your questions or suggestions to improve Kansas Schools. I appreciate your communication.

Thank you for your support!

Dennis
